This list wasn’t hard to come up with since there were so many good games for the PS1, but it wasn’t easy. I thought seriously about this list. The games included had to be influential and well-made, but also entertaining. They’re also games that stood the test of time. Without a doubt the games included are masterpieces of the fifth generation era.

The success of the PlayStation is widely believed to have influenced the demise of the cartridge-based home console. While not the first system to utilize an optical disc format, it was the first success story, and ended up going head-to-head with the last major home console to rely on proprietary cartridges—the Nintendo 64. Nintendo was very public about its skepticism toward using CDs and DVDs to store games, citing longer load times and durability issues. It was widely speculated that the company was even more concerned with copyright infringement, given its substantial reliance on licensing and exclusive titles for its revenue. The increasing complexity of games (in content, graphics, and sound) pushed cartridges to their storage limits and this fact began to turn off third party developers. Also, CDs were appealing to publishers due to the fact that they could be produced at a significantly lower cost and offered more flexibility (it was easy to change production to meet demand). In turn, they were able to pass the lower costs onto consumers.

Classic Game Room HD reviews TEKKEN 3 for PS1 from Namco, released in 1998 for the Playstation 1. Tekken 3 has some improvements and new characters over Tekken 2 and refines the game slightly, but does it perfect perfection? Pretty much as far as CGR is concerned. This 3rd installment in the Tekken series is regarded as one of the best Playstation 1 fighting games on PSone (PSX) with 3D styled characters beating the crap out of each other. Complex button combos make for a challenging game as Tekken 3 contains numerous gameplay modes including the arcade mode, survival and Tekken Force mode which is like Streets of Rage with Tekken characters. This CGR review of Tekken 3 has gameplay from the PS1 classic, Tekken 3, showing game play during the PS1 fighting game in action.

Its like a countdown. It is NOT however a PS3 exclusives countdown, so dont be a jackass and leave comment saying its not PS3 exclusives cause I ALREADY KNOW THAT! I have a PS3 and these are the game I want to play on it, thats why its not call My Top Anticipated Upcoming 360 Games (2009-2010)!!!!! Oh all 360 owner who watch this video and leave 360 is better the PS3 comment WRONG PLACE TO SAY THAT!!!!! Most of the people I know who has the 360 said its bullshit and after theirs got broken, they switch to a PS3!

#4 Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
I kinda played the demo for the first one and thought it was hella nice. But I think there are not that much action in it, graphics were ok and things can be repetitive after a while. I just saw the whole game for Uncharted 2 and I have to admit that its TONS better. Graphics looks WAY better then the first one and IDK about the first one, but Uncharted 2 takes you to different place in the world instead of just being in the jungle. There were definitely more action and a much better story then the first one. I almost forget to mention that Uncharted 2 have multiplayer and co-op mood, which add more replay value to it then the first Uncharted.

#3 Assassin Creed II
I havent play the first one that much, but its seem really boring when you it after you finish it. IDK about the story but the graphics seem really dull, if you play it, you know what I mean. However, Assassin Creed II seems way better then the first one. Graphics just got TONS better which is a major plus for me. The environments are more colorful and better look thing then the first one. I also heard that you can fly and swim??? I havent heard much about it, but I think people should add multiplayer to it somehow.

#2 God of War III
OMG! March 2010. This game is main my reason why I got my PS3 and you dont have to pay for online play but thats a different story. When I got God of War, the gameplay was great, but the graphic could be better. I haven’t play the first one yet so I can’t say anything about it, but God of War 3 seem great! They fix everything the first and second one missed. Due to the Blueray disk, Kratos seem life-like, there can be 40+ enemies on screen at the same time, there are also more blood and gore and bigger bosses battle. Everyone who finish the second one, knew that the ending was a cliffhanger so the God of War III pick up right where God of War II left up. I was like WTF? I can wait for the third one to come out. xD

#1 Modern Warfare 2
Also known as Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. But that doesn’t sound catchy, so they just made it Modern Warfare 2, but I heard that they added the Call of Duty part and keeping it like that. Anyway, I remember the first time I heard about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, I wasn’t so sure if it was good or not, cause I thought it was about World War 2 and stuffs and I wasn’t into those old war game. Until I saw the gameplay and was like that nothing like WW2. xD So at the end I did got like five months after it came out and LOVED IT! As much as I play the multiplayer it doesnt get boring. Single-player was ok, no point of playing it again after you finish it. But the online was AMAZING! Anyway… back to Modern Warfare 2. Graphics look GREAT! The story seem much better and longer then the first one, MORE ACTION! The online unbelievable. Have you seem the online gameplay yet? Good isn’t it? I heard that they are not going to add a mode like Nazi Zombies but they are adding something call special ops mood, its like coop story mode. On multiplayer, they add more perks which I like and now you can upgrade each perks depending one which one you use or like more. Another major plus for me that we can now equip TWO attachment to our guns which is hella good news for me cause I love using the red-dot but people cause see where Im at cause theres not Silencer, but now I can add BOTH! Classic Game Room HD reviews BUSHIDO BLADE for Playstation 1 PS1 video game console. Bushido Blade was released in 1997 and was instantly one of my favorite fighting games ever made. Choose from a small selection of characters and an awesome variety of weapons to stab, slash, hack or mash your opponents with. Bushido Blade was respected yet never really achieved popular mass market appeal, games like DOA, Tekken and Samurai Shodown were far more popular… yet Bushido Blade has something they don’t. Maybe it’s the lack of a health bar, maybe the weapons based combat or maybe it’s just the style. This CGRHD review of Bushido Blade has gameplay footage from PS1 showing Bushido Blade being played in vs. mode and in POV (point of view) mode. You could even link two PS1 consoles together and play a friend in POV combat. The storyline is fun, but 2 player vs. combat is what this game is made for. Get 1 second kills or strech the game out all afternoon. Use button combos and three stances to wield an amazing variety of attacks with which to eliminate your enemy. Bushido Blade was developed by Lightweight and published by Squaresoft in 1997. The PS1 game disk can be found relatively easily, although not as cheaply as some other games for Playstation 1. They made a sequel, Bushido Blade 2, but I want an all-new Bushido Blade for PS3 or Xbox 360 with multiplayer. This is one of the finest fighting games ever made, a true departure from the norm and a worthwhile addition to any video gamer collection. Master the samurai style with the action packed Bushido Blade on PS1.

This is footage of PS1 games as played on a PS2 with texture smoothing on (wherever applicable) to give the games the best visual presentation possible. All of these games are from my own personal collection with the exception of Spyro 2 and Xenogears which I used demos to get footage of, because the fans of both would complain if I did not represent those games.

Consider this as a revising of my old and dated 100 PS1 games vid. I lost the original footage of that vid when a hard drive crapped out on me, and I uploaded it when youtube had stricter restrictions on video size, so I had to upload it in a degraded quality.

I’ve decided to revisit my original 100 PS1 games vid, and add more games, and a lot better quality. Also, you’ll notice that I now have the names of each game up for you.

The vid ended up being too long for Youtube’s length restriction, so I had to split it up to make it fit.

Also, consider every game in a series shown to represent that particular series with the exception of Final Fantasy, and a few others. I wanted to keep the repetition down.
