I wouldn’t say Psychic Force is the best fighting game out there, but it’s amazing how overlooked the game is in general. An interesting fighter for certain, Psychic Force debuted back in 1995 in arcades and would go on to have a (very) small cult following. While the games were panned in some magazines (particularly Psychic Force 2012), the game wasn’t really deserving of such criticism, IMO. The opening was uploaded a long time ago, so it was skipped.

Psychic Force Puzzle Taisen is the next in the series (A puzzler akin to Bust-a-Move/PB) followed by Psychic Force 2012, which is then followed by Psychic Force 2 (which is the same as the Dreamcast game but with downgraded graphics, extra modes and added characters from the original Psychic Force) and finally Psychic Force Complete (which came with various neat L.E.s). Between Complete and PF2 lies a spinoff of sorts known as X: Unmei no Tatakai, which uses the Psychic Force engine and is based off of the popular “X” anime/manga. It was released for Playstation.

This game is unique for its strategic fighting action and freedom of movement. Characters fly around inside of enclosed arenas and use special abilities based around various elements and phenomenon. Known as “psychikers”, they each have their reasons for doing what they do, though most want to aid or prevent the ambitions of a psychic group known as NOAH. Characters each have basic combos, a few forms of defense, a throw, and various elemental attacks that consume different amounts of energy depending on the move and character. For a game made back in 1996, the visuals are impressive from several aspects and the music is cool too (which one comes to expect from Zuntata). The gameplay is interesting and flexible, but you’ll find yourself leaning more on long ranges attacks than melee in later battles. A good balance of offense, defense and throws will ensure victory. This is a fun, rare game overall. Enjoy.

Classic Game Room HD reviews TEKKEN 3 for PS1 from Namco, released in 1998 for the Playstation 1. Tekken 3 has some improvements and new characters over Tekken 2 and refines the game slightly, but does it perfect perfection? Pretty much as far as CGR is concerned. This 3rd installment in the Tekken series is regarded as one of the best Playstation 1 fighting games on PSone (PSX) with 3D styled characters beating the crap out of each other. Complex button combos make for a challenging game as Tekken 3 contains numerous gameplay modes including the arcade mode, survival and Tekken Force mode which is like Streets of Rage with Tekken characters. This CGR review of Tekken 3 has gameplay from the PS1 classic, Tekken 3, showing game play during the PS1 fighting game in action.

This is footage of PS1 games as played on a PS2 with texture smoothing on (wherever applicable) to give the games the best visual presentation possible. All of these games are from my own personal collection with the exception of Spyro 2 and Xenogears which I used demos to get footage of, because the fans of both would complain if I did not represent those games.

Consider this as a revising of my old and dated 100 PS1 games vid. I lost the original footage of that vid when a hard drive crapped out on me, and I uploaded it when youtube had stricter restrictions on video size, so I had to upload it in a degraded quality.

I’ve decided to revisit my original 100 PS1 games vid, and add more games, and a lot better quality. Also, you’ll notice that I now have the names of each game up for you.

The vid ended up being too long for Youtube’s length restriction, so I had to split it up to make it fit.

Also, consider every game in a series shown to represent that particular series with the exception of Final Fantasy, and a few others. I wanted to keep the repetition down.
