Classic Game Room HD reviews DIGGER for PS3 Playstation 3, a remake of the 1983 PC computer game by Windmill Software. Digger is downloadable from the Playstation Network and has several new additions that the PC version was without. First of all it has HD graphics and looks great. Digger has been remastered, reworked and re-designed… BUT, it also has the original version of digger with emulated CGR graphics! Fans of the old school classic will be overjoyed to see this. Digger is from Creat and looks similar to the excellent Magic Ball in many areas. Contol a digger through underground tunnels and collect diamonds and bags of money while avoiding bad guys. You have some defense and can shoot but it takes a while to reload. Gameplay is similar to Mr. Do and many ways, and Dig Dug fans will also find much to rejoice about with Digger. All hail retro-remakes with new and old versions attached, very cool. This CGR review of Digger has gameplay from Digger on PS3 showing game play from the Playstation 3 in action as Digger runs in HD.

so here it is! Bleach: soul carnival 2! i was so excited to get my hands on this since i thought the first the first one was so freaking awesome. this game is like double the size (file size, that is…) of the first one. i’m only a little ways in, so here’s to hoping it kicks all the way through.

also have you seen the preview footage of the next fight between vasto lorde (?) ichigo and ulquiorra released form? its totally epic, and apparently the footage is from this game.

I wouldn’t say Psychic Force is the best fighting game out there, but it’s amazing how overlooked the game is in general. An interesting fighter for certain, Psychic Force debuted back in 1995 in arcades and would go on to have a (very) small cult following. While the games were panned in some magazines (particularly Psychic Force 2012), the game wasn’t really deserving of such criticism, IMO. The opening was uploaded a long time ago, so it was skipped.

Psychic Force Puzzle Taisen is the next in the series (A puzzler akin to Bust-a-Move/PB) followed by Psychic Force 2012, which is then followed by Psychic Force 2 (which is the same as the Dreamcast game but with downgraded graphics, extra modes and added characters from the original Psychic Force) and finally Psychic Force Complete (which came with various neat L.E.s). Between Complete and PF2 lies a spinoff of sorts known as X: Unmei no Tatakai, which uses the Psychic Force engine and is based off of the popular “X” anime/manga. It was released for Playstation.

This game is unique for its strategic fighting action and freedom of movement. Characters fly around inside of enclosed arenas and use special abilities based around various elements and phenomenon. Known as “psychikers”, they each have their reasons for doing what they do, though most want to aid or prevent the ambitions of a psychic group known as NOAH. Characters each have basic combos, a few forms of defense, a throw, and various elemental attacks that consume different amounts of energy depending on the move and character. For a game made back in 1996, the visuals are impressive from several aspects and the music is cool too (which one comes to expect from Zuntata). The gameplay is interesting and flexible, but you’ll find yourself leaning more on long ranges attacks than melee in later battles. A good balance of offense, defense and throws will ensure victory. This is a fun, rare game overall. Enjoy.
